An undersea earthquake of magnitude  6.0 occurred at 2:56am this early morning, near  
96km southeast of Honiara, Solomon Island (Latitude  10.1 degrees south and Longitude 160.5degrees East)

 
THERE IS NO TSUNAMI THREAT TO THE SOLOMON ISLANDS

No further updates will be issued unless the situation changes.
