Heavy Rain WARNING Number Three issued by the Solomon Islands Meteorological Service at 6:00am this morning on Friday 12th of February 2016.

A Heavy Rain Warning is inforce for ALL Provinces.

Situation: A monsoonal flow persists over Solomon Islands.  Meanwhile, Tropical Cyclone Tatiana with a central pressure of 992 hectopascals was located to the far south-southwest of Rennell Island over the central Coral Sea. The cyclone is moving southeast, away from the Solomon Islands.

Associated heavy rain is expected to affect the Solomon Islands.

Such localised Heavy Rain may lead to flash flooding over communities living close to rivers, streams and low lying areas.

People are therefore advised to take precautionary measures because of flooding that will pose danger to lives and properties.
